performance : fibers : ecowash wool

Wool the way mother nature intended it to be.

If you're already a fan of wool, we don't need to tell you what a comfortable, all weather, renewable fiber it is.

Soft hand and superior performance have long been coveted values of wool socks. However, chlorine has traditionally been used in order to make sure your socks don't shrink. The Chlorine treatment damages the comfortable handle of wool fiber, and the discharged wastewater causes an ecological problem of industrial proportions.

EcoWash™ is the world's very first ecologically friendly, shrink-resistance process.

A processing method that makes wool fibers more shrink-resistant without sacrificing comfort and the environment has long been sought. That time has come...

Ozone Processing
Ozone, a naturally occurring substance, reacts with the wool's outer layer leaving only oxygen as a by-product. Ozone treated wool is proven to have excellent shrink-resistance from severe washing tests. Because ozone-treatment is applied only to the surface of wool scales, damage to inside of wool fibers is minimal and its tensile strength remains unaffected. Most importantly, non-use of chlorine means "Safe to the environment."

As a result

  • Provides an incredibly soft feel
  • Superior water repellency
  • Prevents pilling from rubbing
  • Elastic fabric produced naturally
